Unity Care announces that Matthew Madaus has been named as Chief Operating Officer (COO). He is charged with managing the day-to-day operations of Unity Care’s 22 different programs and services.

March 14, 2017) Unity Care (www.unitycare.org), a youth and family development agency providing services and support for San Francisco Bay Area underserved and foster youth, announces that Matthew Madaus has been named as Chief Operating Officer (COO). He is charged with managing the day-to-day operations of Unity Care’s 22 different programs and services.

Mr. Madaus is a seasoned behavioral health executive with more than 25 years’ experience building programs and cultures. For the past two years, he has consulted with executives, managers and staff at child-serving agencies regarding strategy, market analysis, management, program design, clinical services and funding.
From 2010 to 2015, Mr. Madaus led the Edgewood Center for Children and Families, based in San Francisco, as President and CEO. He managed a staff of over 500, serving children and families in San Francisco and San Mateo Counties in the areas of behavioral health, crisis stabilization, residential treatment, community-based services, and prevention. Prior to that, Matt held senior manager roles in a range of programs in both California and Massachusetts, including residential treatment facilities, schools, inpatient units, emergency shelters, and mental health and community-based programs.
Mr. Madaus is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who holds a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College, a Master of Social Work from San Diego State University, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Family Systems Therapy from the Family Institute of Cambridge.
