Who We Are

Established in 1993, Unity Care is a national accredited, strengths-based, family-focused, and culturally proficient youth and family agency. Unity Care’s goal is to provide safe, stable and affordable housing for youth and young adults as they age out of foster care and to provide them with the supportive services they need to achieve self-sufficiency.

Our Mission

We transform the lives of young people in and emerging from foster care by providing stable housing, caring connections, and life skills that build a foundation to achieve their potential.

Who We Serve

Unity Care housing and programs serve transitional age foster youth (TAY) and families ages 16–21 in Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, Placer, and El Dorado counties. Our signature program, founded in 1993, focuses on serving the housing needs of youth in foster care and beyond.

Our Philosophy

At Unity Care, we focus on meeting individualized needs and working together for the benefit of each child and family in our care. We put our philosophy into practice through our 1-Child 1-Plan framework, which promotes effective and efficient teamwork through one service delivery plan for each youth or family referred to our care.

Transcultural Engagement Model

With a focus on cultural proficiency that differentiates us from other providers, our Transcultural Engagement Model is a significant employee training component that incorporates many cultural perspectives, appreciates differences, values the unique contributions of diverse groups, and promotes learning from many orientations.
